The France Excellence 2018 Summer School "Plant Health and Quality" will take place from June 26th to July 19th 2018 in University of Angers.

Located in Angers, the Plant Health & Quality summer school is organized by one of the first high Education Training Centres in France on plant science with 2500 students/year and an excellent support for research and close links with major economic players. With 400 researchers, including 175 permanent scientists, 66 PhDs (in 2016), Angers is the first research centre in France on horticulture and seed sciences with track-record excellence in research focusing on quality and health of horticultural crops and seeds.

We offer participants conferences by renowned researchers and various hands-on workshops with the participation of international researchers from our partner universities and institutions. Topics to be covered include different research fields in plant health and quality: plant defense stimulation and plant resistance, disease diagnostic, plant and pathogen genomics, parasitic plants, weed control in intercropping systems, quality of seeds, fruit production and development, sensory analysis...

You will have the opportunity to visit different research labs with state-of-the-art equipment (plant and seed phenotyping facilities, biological resource centres, diagnostic laboratory…) as well as botanical gardens and experimental fields.

The Summer School not only offers a fine selection of interesting courses and scientific visits, it also aims at giving you an unforgettable stay in France.
