The France Excellence 2018 Summer School "Medical Imaging : Advances for Neurosciences" will take place from June 17th to July 15th 2018 in University of Poitiers

The theme chosen for 2018 edition corresponds to a multidisciplinary research priority of the

University of Poitiers, in connection with the University Hospital of Poitiers , in the field of health.

Poitiers teams are recognized in the field of image processing worldwide. They are used to working

in close proximity with teams from the University Hospital of Poitiers in the fields of neuroradiology,

neurosurgery and psychiatry.

This proximity between researchers and doctors has allowed the development of a privileged

partnership between Poitiers and the company SIEMENS, which today makes reference at an

European level.


The students will receive during the last week of the summer school a week training in french

language in Royan.

Transfer : By private bus from Roissy airport to Poitiers students residence

In host families in Royan



Lunch is taken care of during the weeks 1 to 3, the days of classes.

The other meals are free except meals taken during events included in the social program

Meal, lunch and dinner are all included during the week 4.


Transportation :

Students are taken care of as soon as they arrive in Paris, then when they move between the two

places of the school (Poitiers and Royan) as well as their intra-urban displacements (supply of

transport cards)

their return to Paris.


Back to China:

End of courses :13th of july 2018

Return to Paris Airport by private bus : 15th of july




Pedagogical team :

The teaching team will consist mainly of members of :

- the ICONES team of the XLIM laboratory (UMR CNRS 7252), specialized in image processing and

analysis, particularly for medical applications ;

- the DACTIM-MIS team from the LMA laboratory (UMR CNRS 7348), specialized in the modeling of

medical data ;

in correlation with the University Hospital of Poitiers,


Weeks 1 to 3 :

Course at the FLE Center of the University of Poitiers, thematic courses, mini-conferences and

meetings of PhD students and young researchers


French as a Foreign Language course will be of the order of 15 hours over 3 weeks.

During week 1, the FLE courses will be more important and will decrease in weeks 2 and 3. The

students will acquire the minimum vocabulary to integrate elements of French culture and to obtain

a degree of autonomy sufficient for their everyday life.

Medical Imaging : Advances for Neurosciences

From June 25th to July 20th 2018 in University of Poitiers.

The total number of places is limited to 25.

The price does not include the trip from China to Paris.


Accommodation, meals and local transportation are all included except meals taken during the events included in the social program.

The summer school will deliver 6 ECTS + 2 FLE

The summer school is reserved to Chinese master students.
